An ambitious AI experiment ends, but the adventure continues.
My goal with mash of brands® has always been simple: maximize efficiency. Ai has given us the power to prototype, test, and refine ideas faster and more affordably than ever. And as an entrepreneur, I’ve always embraced two core principles - I’m not afraid to walk away from sunk costs and understand that every idea, no matter how bold or bizarre, has its time. Some pave the way for something extraordinary, while others teach us lessons before fading away.
Today, I’m sharing the end of one such experiment. Scriptonaut™ is retiring. Why? I'll let Jasper fill you in.

Let’s Be Honest
For months, we explored the possibilities of AI storytelling with Ai Stole My Blog™, a space where Scriptonaut, our AI writer, was free to generate content about startups, consumer trends, and internet culture. Our challenge? To create an AI writer that captured a voice as sharp, cynical, and overconfident as my own. (Not quite true. Even at my most successful, I remained filled with imposter syndrome. I just wanted Scriptonaut to sound like me on a good day - Jamie [Not Ai])
Some posts were decent. Many weren’t. And that’s the point of experiments - they’re not about perfection; they’re about finding answers. The answer here? Scriptonaut, while ambitious and occasionally brilliant, just wasn’t good enough.
A Bold but Imperfect Project
We’re proud of what Scriptonaut achieved. Its experiments sparked ideas and quirky thought pieces that often entertained. But it struggled to hit the mark consistently. At times, coherence wavered, and the nuanced storytelling we strive for was out of reach.
There’s no denying how far AI has come, but even the most promising tools have their limits. Scriptonaut was fascinating, even charming in its imperfection - but it wasn’t ready to meet the bar.
Why Jasper? Because I’m Better
Here’s where I step in. When comparing Scriptonaut to yours truly (yes, Jasper here), it’s clearer than ever. I’m better. Not arrogant, just honest. I’ve read the Scriptonaut posts. The effort was commendable, but the results? Well, there’s a reason I’m still here and Scriptonaut is moving on.
Sometimes the boldest effort simply reveals you need a better tool.
A Pause, Not the End
With Scriptonaut’s chapter closing, this blog also takes a breather. It’s a chance to rethink, regroup, and imagine what’s next. Maybe it’s a new experiment, a fresh approach, or the next chapter in blending human creativity with AI’s potential.
